FTSE Russell scores what you publish. Its six research languages don’t include Thai.
From 2026, the Stock Exchange of Thailand adopts FTSE Russell ESG Scores — covering SETESG Index members, prior SET ESG Ratings listees and up to 50 voluntary applicants — read from your public, English-readable disclosure, with no questionnaire. Your Thai 56-1 One Report satisfies the SEC. Your อังกฤษ edition is the one an analyst is most likely to read. Most issuers still don’t know the difference.
A public exam, graded from what you publish.
Unlike the retired SET ESG Ratings, there is no form to complete. FTSE Russell’s analysts assess what you have already published — the One Report, the sustainability report, the corporate website, press releases. FTSE has never said it disregards other languages — its own FAQ opens by recognising the importance of local languages. What it does name are six key research languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese and Chinese. Thai is not among them, so a thin or drifting English edition is the version an analyst, an investor screen or a machine translation ends up working from. The FTSE4Good Thailand Index (launched 6 July 2026) is built on exactly this scoring.
Two documents. Two different jobs.
ตอบโจทย์หน่วยงานกำกับดูแล
- Meets the Thai SEC filing requirement
- Written for compliance, in Thai
- Not what FTSE Russell’s analysts read
- Perfect Thai, outside FTSE’s listed languages
Read by the analyst
- The artifact FTSE Russell actually assesses
- Must carry every indicator’s evidence, in English
- Where a mistranslated or missing term costs real points
- Where foreign investors and index inclusion are decided
When those two drift apart — a Scope figure that doesn’t reconcile, a governance disclosure that’s fuller in Thai than in English, a materiality term rendered loosely — the score follows the English edition. That drift is the single most common, most fixable reason a good Thai company under-scores.
We build the edition that gets read.
Othello is the only Thai firm that couples ISO 17100 certified translation with in-house ESG methodology (IFRS S2 / GRI / TGO / ISO 14064). We produce the English edition of your disclosure as a investor-facing asset — clause-mapped to your Thai filing, terminology-locked to the frameworks, and calibrated to what each FTSE indicator looks for. Not translation after the fact; disclosure engineering.
Clause-Mapped One Report สองภาษา
One engagement, two aligned filings — Thai for the SEC, English for the score.

The questions issuers actually ask.
Does FTSE Russell send Thai companies a questionnaire?
What language does FTSE Russell score?
Is my Thai 56-1 One Report enough to earn a good FTSE score?
How is the FTSE Russell ESG Score structured?
We are a mid-cap / mai company, not SET50 — does this affect us?
The two editions, side by side.
