Case study · Financial services
A SET50 financial group’s climate disclosure, read line by line.
SCB X engaged Othello for disclosure editorial and review across its climate reporting and a bilingual ESG policy suite. The work is editorial, review and drafting support — precision on the documents that raters, regulators and the board all read.

A disclosure is only as good as its weakest sentence.
A financial group’s climate report is read by three audiences with different tolerances. The board reads it for accuracy. The regulator reads it for completeness against the filing rules. A rating agency reads it as scoreable evidence — and a rater does not ask what was meant, only what was written.
That makes editorial a technical discipline rather than a stylistic one. A term that drifts between the Thai and English editions, a Scope 1 figure that disagrees with the table it is drawn from, a policy commitment phrased so loosely that it cannot be evidenced — each reads to an external assessor as a disclosure inconsistency, no matter how sound the underlying work was.
Othello was brought in at exactly that layer: not to decide what SCB X discloses, but to make certain the documents say precisely what the group means, in both languages, against the frameworks that will be used to judge them.
The engagement
What Othello is doing.
Disclosure editorial & review
A line-by-line editorial pass over climate-disclosure content under an ISO 17100-aligned process, holding terminology stable across the Thai and English editions.
FTSE Russell disclosure gap review
A structured read of published disclosure against the FTSE Russell pillar and indicator structure, identifying where evidence existed but was not stated in a form an external assessor could score.
Scope 1 GHG editorial
Editorial across the Scope 1 greenhouse-gas disclosure, checking that narrative, tables and figures agreed with one another in both language editions.
Sustainability & climate policy drafting
Drafting and bilingual production of the Sustainability Policy and the Climate Change & Environmental Stewardship Policy, delivered in Thai and English.
ESG Risk Management Policy
The ESG Risk Management Policy delivered across three batches, with a final Thai proofread after the committee’s own amendments were incorporated.
Where it stands
Live work, stated honestly.
Status · Ongoing
The FTSE Russell disclosure gap review and the Scope 1 editorial completed their final revision in July 2026. The policy suite delivered through 2026, with a final Thai proofread in September 2026 after committee changes. Further policy translation remains under discussion.
On the record: This engagement is named with the client’s agreement, recorded by Othello’s CEO. Othello provided editorial, review and drafting support — it did not author SCB X’s climate report, and it did not advise on the FTSE Russell submission itself. No fees, internal figures or unpublished disclosure content appear on this page.
