The Thailand FTSE Readiness Index.

From 2026, FTSE Russell scores Thailand's SET-listed companies on what they disclose publicly, in English — not on what sits in a Thai-only 56-1 One Report. This index ranks how ready each of the eight SET industry groups is for that shift, read from disclosure breadth, third-party assurance and English-language availability across the market.

The Index

Eight industry groups, ranked by readiness.

An indicative 0–100 readiness score for each SET industry group, highest to lowest. Bar length reflects the score; the band shows how far each group still sits from a full, English-language, third-party-assured disclosure set.

Read this as a market-level benchmark, not a scorecard. Scores are indicative Othello estimates of each group's median readiness — they are not FTSE Russell's official ESG Scores, and no individual company is scored, ranked or named. Methodology

How the index is built.

The readiness score is an indicative aggregate of how each industry group performs across FTSE Russell's fourteen disclosure themes, weighted toward what carries public, English-language disclosure. It draws on Othello's disclosure research across roughly 940 SET-listed companies.

Fourteen themes, three pillars

FTSE Russell assesses Environmental, Social and Governance disclosure across fourteen themes. Our aggregate weights the themes most exposed to public reporting, so the score tracks disclosure maturity rather than any single metric.

Weighted for English

Where a theme is disclosed only in Thai, or only inside a filing that is never published in English, it is treated as largely invisible to an international rater — because that is how the model reads it.

Aggregate, not per-company

Each score describes the median readiness of a whole industry group, not any single issuer. No company is scored, ranked or named anywhere in this index.

Indicative, not official

This is an Othello benchmark to help boards gauge relative readiness before FTSE Russell's continuous 0.0–5.0 scale takes effect. It is not, and does not reproduce, an official FTSE Russell ESG Score.

What the score measures. Relative readiness of an industry group's public, English-language ESG disclosure against the themes FTSE Russell assesses — breadth of disclosure, presence of quantified climate data, and third-party assurance. It is a maturity indicator, not a prediction of any company's future ESG rating.

What it does not do. It does not score, rank or name any individual company; it does not reproduce FTSE Russell's methodology or output; and it is not investment advice. Sector definitions follow the eight official SET industry groups.

Evidence base. Othello's disclosure research across ~940 SET-listed companies, read alongside market indicators set out in The State of ESG Disclosure in Thailand. Figures are indicative and are refreshed as disclosure practice moves.

What the index shows

Four things the ranking makes plain.

Even the leaders are not “ready”

Resources and Financials top the table, yet market-wide only 38% of GHG disclosers obtain external assurance and just 18% report Scope 3. The median firm in even the strongest group still lacks a complete, assured English disclosure set. See the data.

The gap widens at the bottom

Services and Consumer Products sit in the Behind and At-risk bands — roughly a third below the leaders. These groups combine lighter environmental disclosure with the least English-language reporting, so the shift to FTSE scoring hits them hardest.

The differentiator is the English edition

FTSE Russell scores what is publicly available in English. A strong Thai 56-1 One Report that is never published in English reads, to an international rater, as though it were not there. Across every group, the English edition is what moves the score.

Coverage grew; depth did not

SET ratings rose from 193 firms in 2023 to 265 in 2025, but the 2026 move to FTSE Russell's continuous 0–5 scale rewards substance over a binary “rated / not rated”. Breadth of coverage no longer stands in for depth of disclosure. Read the report.

Next step

Turn readiness into a rated disclosure.

Othello builds and translates the English-edition ESG disclosures that international raters actually read. Book a short call and we will map your sector's gap to a plan.
